HEAL Foundation

2015 saw the formation of the HEAL Foundation (the Foundation). The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a vehicle to channel charitable activities and formally endorse a culture of fostering programs that support healthcare education.

The work undertaken by the Foundation aligns with the HEAL Vision and Purpose and with the Foundation's Scope of Activity:

  • National programs that have a social impact in healthcare (for healthcare professionals, communities, families or individuals), and that:
    • provide healthcare education as its central role;
    • provide transformative healthcare education; or
    • provide healthcare knowledge and skills to health professionals.
  • International programs to foster global citizenship, that:
    • provide healthcare education as its central role;
    • provide transformative healthcare education;
    • explore different cultures, languages and economies with respect to healthcare; or
    • provide healthcare knowledge and skills to societies in need.
  • Collaboration with other educational facilities and organisations
  • Financial support/scholarships for research projects to support individuals or organisations to deliver innovative health education programs
  • Seeking charitable donations
  • Development and delivery of charitable health education projects (either independently or in collaboration with other organisations)

The Foundation operates as a separate division within HEAL and has its own Terms of Reference.

Sponsorship is available for grants up to $10,000 for projects that align with the HEAL Vision and Purpose and with the scope of activity of the Foundation.

Applications will be highly regarded if they benefit patient outcomes. 

There is one (1) sponsorship round per year, as follows:

  • Applications will open on 1 January
  • Applications will close on 31 March
  • Applicants may be required to present at the HEAL Board meeting in May
  • Applicants will be notified in June
