Physical Examination Course

Physical examination stations can cause anxiety for IMGs sitting the AMC clinical exam. We offer the opportunity to focus on a few common physical examinations that could be in your exam.

This is a face-to-face workshop where you will observe physical examination demonstrations but you will also be hands-on and examine trained simulated patients yourself who will also provide you feedback.

The aim of the workshop is to assist IMGs to:

Understand common physical examinations and approach
Hone competency knowledge, and
Increase confidence going into a clinical exam

This face-to-face course is offered as supplementary to our online clinical bridging course.

This face-to-face workshop is facilitated by Dr James Lim, an Emergency Medicine Advanced Trainee who has completed his AMC exams and was also successful in his Fellowship exam.

Course inclusions

Examination technique demonstrations and valuable feedback from the facilitator
6 physical examinations covered in the session with and without presenting findings
Candidates will have the opportunity to be hands-on, observe other candidates’ techniques and offer their own valuable feedback to help each other improve
Feedback is also offered by simulated patients
